NMAT - Introduction

NMAT 2021 is a well known Management Entrance exam conducted to enroll in NMIMS University and many other B schools across the country. This exam is very convenient for candidates as they allow them to choose their test timings, appointment date, time, and venue based on seats available at each test centre. The test window is open for 75 days and candidates have a chance to attempt exam thrice during this period. The test duration is of 180 minutes comprising 120 questions with Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning as main sections. Candidates can enroll for MBA/PGDM courses with this exam. The difficulty level of this exam is moderate as compared with CAT/XAT/SNAP

  • Candidates should ensure to check the eligibility criteria if they are interested in applying for the entrance exam of NMAT 2020.
  • Candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate in their final year of graduation
  • Candidates in their final year can also attempt this exam, to these students’ admission will be given on provisional.

Paper Pattern:

  • NMAT 2020 exam, the test window is open for 75 days, and candidates have a chance to attempt exam thrice during this period keeping in mind that the day and venue are flexible according to the candidate’s convenience
  • In these three attempts, there is one original attempt and two retakes (including no shows). The highest score amongst the three will be considered for the further selection processes. The test duration is of 180 minutes comprising 120 questions with Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning as main sections
  • The exam marking scheme is +3 for every right answer and there is no negative marking in this paper
  • Reviewing options is also available to the students at the end so that they can review the paper and rectify their mistakes if any.

Registration and Payment

  1. Create an account on nmat.org.in using an active email ID. Now candidates will be directed to œRegister Now which candidates have to click on for registration process
  2. A new window will be displayed and candidates are required to fill name, phone number, email ID.  The user ID and Password will be forwarded to the registered email ID
  3. Now candidates are required to log in with a newly created account using the user ID and Password and fill all required details like name and date of birth that you have entered on the registration form
  4. Candidates have to choose 5 B schools where they wish to submit their NMAT score for the admission process
  5. Candidates must upload a passport size photograph as prescribed and the same will appear on your admit card as well
  6. Pay the test fee which will be around 2000+ including the taxes as well which candidates have to do by payment methods given on the website
  7. Once your payment is realized, your schedule exam option will be activated in your dashboard, so that you can go ahead and schedule your exam.
  8. You will be able to download your admit card from your dashboard once the payment is realized


You will be allowed to take the NMAT by GMACâ„¢ exam a maximum of three times during the year’s testing period. This includes the first attempt plus a maximum of two retake attempts. No shows are considered attempts. Your retake registration option will be enabled in your dashboard after your exam date. You need to register for the retake by simply clicking on the Retake section and pay.

NMAT 2020 is a candidate friendly exam so it allows the candidates to choose exam centers as per their convenience and so there are more than 50 exam centers located in different cities. Accessing your results

  • Candidates will be able to see their results on the official website 4-5 weeks after the exam date
