MBA CET 2019 - Common Admission Process

MBA CET is an exam conducted by DTE Maharashtra for admissions into prestigious B Schools in the state. The list of colleges one can get through CET contains heavy weights like JBIMS, SIMSREE, KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, PUMBA and many more.

MBA CET 2019, conducted on 9th and 10th March and results were out on 31st March.

DTE Maharashtra will start the subsequent rounds of admission 15th May onwards.

Important Dates for Common Admission Process

Eligibility to apply for CAP Rounds after MBA CET 2019

Eligibility criteria laid down by DTE, Maharashtra for MAH CET 2019 is

  • Qualification  Candidate must have completed at least 3 years of bachelor's degree in any field OR appeared in final year exam of bachelor's degree. Candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. However, 5% relaxation is there for candidates belonging to the Reserved or PWD category.
  • University  The University must be recognized by the University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities.
  • Candidates applying under All India Category - Candidates who have appeared for CAT (conducted by IIMs)/ GMAT(conducted by GMAC)/ CMAT(Conducted by AICTE)/ MAT(conducted by AIMA)/ XAT (conducted by XLRI)/ ATMA (conducted by AIMS) are considered to be eligible for admission against the All India Seats subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria.
  • Eligibility for NRI / OCI/ PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National
    • Passed minimum Three years duration bachelor's Degree awarded by the University recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or its equivalent.
    • Any other criterion declared by appropriate authority from time to time.
  • The candidates belonging to SC, VJ/DT (NT (A)), NT (B), NT(C), NT (D), OBC and SBC categories should produce œCaste Validity Certificate issued by Scrutiny Committee of Social Welfare Department and the Candidate belonging to ST category should submit œTribe Validity Certificate issued by Scrutiny Committee of Tribal Department and valid Non Creamy Layer certificate except SC, ST candidates at the time of verification of documents.

CET 2019 Expected Cut Offs

The MAH CET cutoff is released by each participating institute. The candidates are being allotted seats based on cutoff. Candidate Categorization

  • MS and OMS Categorization

    The Candidature Type and the Home University of the candidate plays an important role in the CAP. Candidates must carefully read the guidelines and select their Candidature Type and Home University properly while submitting the application form for CAP.

    Any Candidate falling in either A, B, C, D or E type of category then they can be classified as MS Candidate. Those candidates who do not fall in any of the A, B, C, D or E Category then they can be classified as OMS Candidates

  • TYPE A: Eligible candidate needs to have the following
    • Passed HSC or Passing Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State AND ALSO
    • Qualifying Examination from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State AND Either DOMICILE of Maharashtra and/or is BORN in Maharashtra

    • Note: (Home University) Place of passing of Qualifying Examination falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area

  • TYPE B: A Candidate who does not fall in Type A above, but
    • Whose Father or Mother is DOMICILED in the State of Maharashtra AND

    • Whose Father or Mother possess Domicile Certificate

    • Note: (Home University) Place of Domicile Certificate issuing authority falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area
  • TYPE C: A Candidate who does not fall in either Type A or Type-B but
    • Whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or Government of India Under-taking AND

    • Who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submitting the Application Form for CAP.

    • Note: (Home University) Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

  • TYPE D: A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type A, Type B and Type-C but
    • Whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking

    • Note: (Home University) Place of posting of Father or Mother of Candidate or the place of settlement of the Father or Mother if retired or the place of last posting if deputed outside Maharashtra falling within the jurisdiction of the respective University area.

  • TYPE E: Any Candidate
    • Passing HSC or Passing Diploma in Engineering or Technology or Pharmacy from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area AND ALSO

    • Passing Qualifying Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area AND
      Whose Mother tongue is Marathi

    • Note: (Home University) Candidate shall be considered for the Outside Home University or State Level Seats.

  • OMS: Does not satisfy as Type-A, Type-B, Type-C, Type-D and Type-E Candidate AND having Indian Nationality are eligible under this Category.
  • For Certificate of Nationality any one of the following documents shall be accepted:
    • Certificate of the Indian Nationality of the candidate (usually issued by the Tahshildar/Executive Magistrate/Dy. Collector of the concerned District/Taluka).

    • The School Leaving Certificate indicating the Nationality of the Candidate as 'Indian' Or The place of birth In India.

    • Indian Passport in the name of the Candidate,issued by Goverment Of India.

    • Birth Certificate of the Candidate indicating the place of birth in India.

Common Admission Process

The registration for counselling procedure of MAH CET Exam 2019 is likely to be scheduled from June 2019 onwards post declaration of results. The Centralized Admission Process will be conducted in three rounds for confirmation and allotment of seats. The counselling process is being done through Online Web Counselling only.

Stage 1: Online Registration

  • All candidates who have appeared in MAH CET 2019 are required to fill in the online application form for CAP counselling registration.
  • Visit the official website of MAH CET.
  • Click on the link œCounselling Procedure of MAH CET 2019 registration.
  • Enter your name, application number, roll no. date of birth and Password.
  • Pay the counselling fee through online net baking.

Stage 2: Fees Payment

The counselling fee is non-refundable and must be paid at the time of form submission only. Fee payment must be made through online transaction only.

Stage 3: Document Verification

  • Post registration, the applicant is required to get their documents verified at the Application Form Receipt Center.

  • The applicant is required to carry a set of photocopies of all documents at the counselling venue.
  • Documents required at the time of MAH CET 2019 Counselling Procedure are jotted down below:

    • Class 10th and 12th certificate

    • Migration certificate
    • Category certificate

Stage 4: Choice Filling

  • Post verification of documents, the applicant is required to login their account and choose their respective college and branch.
  • Once the choices have been locked, the applicant won't be able to change them.

Stage 5: Seat Allotment

  • The seat allocation is done based on vacancies, rank of appeared students and choices filled by the applicants.
  • To check the seat allocation, result the applicant is required to login on his/her account.
  • On selection in any college, the applicant will be issued a provisional admission letter.

Stage 6: Reporting to Alloted Institute

  • After a successful allocation of seat, the applicant is required to report to the allotted institute.
  • The applicant is required to carry the seat allotment letter and all the necessary documents.
  • If the candidate fails to report to the institute then, this will result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Stage 7: Confirmation Letter

  • The applicant will be provided a confirmation letter by the respective college, post completion of the Counselling Procedure.
