FMS Delhi Program, Admission Process, and Eligibility

A Delhi University-affiliated B-school, FMS was founded in 1954 under the aegis of Delhi University. FMS was founded on the premises of the Delhi School of Economics. Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), now Delhi Technological University (DTU), abolished its department of commerce and established its Faculty of Management Studies. FMS currently offers the following programs:

MBA (FULL TIME) PROGRAMME

MBA-the two-year full-time program is designed to develop young men and women into highly skilled professional managers, capable of working in a variety of sectors, continuously striving for excellence in performance, while contributing to society as a whole and propagating thought leadership. FMS provide students with academic flexibility to customize their MBA experience so they can achieve their goals: First, they provide a solid analytical foundation in key functional areas; second, they provide a strong analytical foundation in key functional areas.

Application Procedure:

Applicants can register themselves for admission to the MBA Programme (2023– 2025) through FMS website www.fms.edu by filling up online registration form and by paying the requisite registration fee within the specified time period.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA Programme:
Candidates applying for admission to the MBA programme must have pursued at least a Bachelor’s Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling with at least 50% marks at graduation level for the unreserved category (SC/ST: Passing Marks; OBC Non-Creamy/EWS/PWD/CW: 45% as per University Rules) or equivalent CGPA. Applicants appearing for their final year of a Bachelor’s Degree are also eligible to apply. Applicants with CGPA scores must provide a copy of the university or institution’s official CGPA to Percentage conversion table.
Applicants preparing for the final year examination of their Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply for admission, regardless of their percentage of scores until the time of application, provided they anticipate fulfilling the eligibility criteria when their results are declared, which must be submitted to FMS at the time of application.

Selection Criteria:

A composite score shall be computed giving weightage of 30%, 30%, and 40% to the scores of QA, DI-LR, and VRC sections respectively as provided by the CAT Centre. For women candidates to be shortlisted, an additional 3 marks will be added to the Composite Score.

The following criteria and weight system will be used to determine admission to the MBA Full-Time programme from the list of candidates shortlisted for the Interview Process:

  • Weighted CAT 2022 Score – 50%
  • Marks obtained in Class X – 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above: 10%)
  • Marks obtained in Class XII – 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above 10%)
  •  Discussion on Statement of Purpose – 10%
  •  Extempore – 5%
  •  Personal Interview – 15%

Women who participate in the interview will be awarded an additional 5 marks. Admission will not be considered for applicants who have not taken the CAT.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

Fee Structure:
Academic year fees are payable at the beginning of each academic year. There is a semester fee of approximately Rs.50,000 per semester for MBA students. The University of Delhi reserves the right to revise the fees for the various programmes and reservation categories at any time before or during the duration of the programmes.


Reservations/Relaxations:
Candidates are entitled to reservations/relaxations in accordance with the University of Delhi guidelines, as amended from time to time. According to existing guidelines, the following reservations apply to MBA Full Time 2023-25:
