What is Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a 3-year undergraduate course in Business Management. It is one of the most popular courses available to students after 10+2.

Since it contains a syllabus that forms the foundation of management training, BBA is seen as a precursor to an MBA.

Many government, private, central and state universities, as well as management institutes, offer BBA course. A candidate planning to pursue BBA after class 12 must choose the college wisely.

Eligibility for BBA Course

Interested aspirants for BBA need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • HSC (10+2 level) from a recognized Educational Board
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50% to 60% at 10+2 level of Education
  • Students who have appeared in HSC examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply

Admission Process

Admission to the course is generally through an entrance exam. Many colleges conduct separate entrance exam for admission to their BBA program. Some of the entrance exams are as follows

  • SET – SET or Symbiosis Entrance Test is a common test conducted by Symbiosis International University for admission in undergraduate courses in the fields of Law, Management, General, Design, Engineering and Health Science.
  • BMCCAPT - is conducted by Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) for admission to their BBA program.
  • MIT APTITUDE Test - is conducted by MIT SOM for admission to their BBA program.
  • IPU CET – IPU CET (IP University Common Entrance Test) is a university level entrance exam conducted for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate and research courses.
  • DYPCET - D Y Patil School of Management conducts this entrance exam for admission to their BBA program.
  • ADYPUAT - is conducted by Ajeenkya D Y Patil University for admission to their BBA program.
  • AIMA UGAT – AIMA Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT) is a national level examination conducted annually by All India Management Association (AIMA). It is conducted to screen candidates for admission in various courses such as BBA, BCA, Integrated MBA, B.Com etc.
  • CHRIST BBA - Christ deemed to be University, Bangalore conducts their own entrance exam for admission to their BBA program.
Paper Pattern

The BBA Entrance test is mainly objective type and has multiple choice questions. Some of the common sections of the test are -

  • Quantitative Ability/ Mathematics
  • Verbal Ability/ English
  • General Knowledge
  • Analytical/ Logical Reasoning

The BBA entrance exams are scheduled in the month of May-June.

After completion of the course, BBA graduates can either opt for higher education or seek employment in different sectors.
